GROWN UPS  is an exploration of the liminal period between childhood and adulthood. Youth is colored by the structures of school and parents, a time where we are taught right from wrong and are led by hand into the world, to believe in the things we are told. Adulthood is molded by money and longevity– when our identity becomes the way we sell our labor, raise our children, and identify and grow our family.

What about the in between? That seems like the place where our lights get blown out. When we finally get to have 20/20 vision, yet wander in the dark. It’s where we still hold on to the hopes and dreams that capitalism deem unrealistic. It is where our hands become empty, yet have all the power to grasp.
